Relationship 2.0, Inc. Selected for MassChallenge UK 2016 Accelerator
Joins 100 of the most high-impact startups from around the world
LONDON (10 August, 2016) – Today Relationship 2.0, Inc., the developers of CoupleWise, announced it has been selected to join MassChallenge UK, the most startup-friendly accelerator on the planet. One of only 100 other startups participating out of an applicant pool of over 1,500 startups, Relationship 2.0 will have access to mentors, office space, and a vast network of experienced entrepreneurs, corporate partners, and investors.
“We’re excited such a distinguished panel of judges selected us as finalists,” said Dan Gallo, Co-Founder and CEO. “This is further confirmation that our approach to improving the health and well-being of millions of couples is viable, and has the ability to change the way people strengthen and repair their most important adult relationship.”
The Company’s first application is called CoupleWise, a science-based, low cost, and confidential solution for couples counseling and couple enrichment. It is the result of almost 10 years of research by Co-Founder, Chief Innovation Officer & Chief Psychologist, Dr. Gary Krane, Ph.D., driven to develop an online solution to help improve relationships after his own marriage ended abruptly. After many false starts, Dr. Krane connected with Gallo and together they’ve resurrected the dream. The brand new CoupleWise launches early September at www.CoupleWise.com, available for free for 60 days.
“We believe MassChallenge UK will dramatically impact our CoupleWise launch in the United Kingdom, and prepare us for further international distribution,” added Gallo. “We anticipate the knowledge and relationships we’ll build by participating will be of greater value than the £50,000 in awards—although that won’t hurt, either.”
Studies show relational discord results in 1.7 million sick days per year in the US alone, costing companies $7 billion in lost productivity. With that in mind, the Company’s initial market focus will be corporations and insurance companies advancing employee health and well-being by providing CoupleWise to their employees.
“Our second cohort in the UK is a truly amazing group of startups with incredible potential with the ability and ideas to change the world,” said Diane Perlman, MassChallenge CMO. “We are grateful to our engaged global community of alumni, mentors, and partners to provide the support and access that early-stage startups need to be successful.”
This year’s MassChallenge UK class was selected from more than 1,500 applicants across a diverse range of industries and geographies, including 69 countries. The accelerator program will culminate on December 1, 2016, at the MassChallenge UK Awards Ceremony, where entrepreneurs will pitch their startups with the chance to win up to £50,000 in individual awards with no equity taken.
Gallo concludes, “The MassChallenge UK announcement adds to our momentum when combined with our imminent product release and our soon-to-be announced MOU to partner with a US-based video-counseling company currently getting 1 million views per day on their digital health websites.”
